Pesantren Science Tebuireng Welcomes Muslim Scientists

Tebuireng.online– The atmosphere of emotion and enthusiasm enveloped the area of ​​the Tebuireng Science Islamic Boarding School, Jombok, Jombang, Friday (4/7/2025), when hundreds of new students officially began their initial steps in studying. The presence of the students was warmly welcomed in the welcoming ceremony which was attended by the Head of Pondok, Ustadz and Ustadzah, and the Wali Santri.

This event became a special momentum, not only as the beginning of the process of adaptation to the pesantren environment, but also as a spiritual and emotional milestone in building bonds between students, coaches, and new environment.

Smart Santri with Big Vision

Tebuireng Science is known as an integration-based pesantren between modern science and Islamic values. No wonder the selection process for prospective santri is carried out strictly and comprehensively. The new students who passed were selected students with intellectual intelligence (IQ) above average, as evidenced by the results of a series of tests such as psychology, quick count, basic academic, Islamic religious education, science, mathematics, Indonesian, English, to interviews and reading tests of the Qur’an.

This selection was held on May 24-25, 2025, with the announcement of the results on May 30, 2025. Those who passed were considered not only cognitively intelligent, but also emotionally (EQ), and were ready to be formed to be spiritual superior (SQ).

High enthusiasm, strong trust

In this new school year, there were 128 male students and 127 female students at junior high school level, as well as 125 male students and 123 female students at the official high school level became part of the large family of Tebuireng Science. Interestingly, the number of new students continues to increase 11 female students registered in just one day, this indicates the enthusiasm and trust of the people who are increasing.

In fact, around 50% of male students and 40% of high school women’s students are internal graduates from Tebuireng Science Middle School level. This is a clear proof of the high satisfaction and confidence of the saints of the education system applied.

Hope and emotion on the first day

The first day the students were colored by a hopeful atmosphere. The coaches patiently and friendly help new students enter the dormitory, carry luggage, to direct them to know the new environment. Not a few who shed tears when they had to part with their parents.

“I chose to lodge my children here because I saw an integrated system between religious knowledge and science. The environment is also safe, with adjacent school and dormitory zones. My hope, children can grow into a strong and academically superior strong personality,” said Ibu Ana, Wali Santri from Lamongan.

Meanwhile, Indi, a new students in class X Science VII, also shared her enthusiasm. “I entered Tebuireng Science because the facilities supported and disciplined. My hope, hopefully can become a better person and be able to make parents happy.”

Initial debriefing for future santri

In welcoming activities, the students were introduced to the rules, superior programs, as well as various activities that were characteristic of Tebuireng Science. Starting from the motivational session, ta’aruf with the clerics, to the introduction of the integrated learning method.

During the orientation period, santri will also be equipped with basic materials such as pesantren vision, time management, ethics, to scientific thinking methods based on Islamic values. All of this is designed as a foundation so that the students grow into a balanced generation between science, charity, and morals.
